My Experience with Lasik Surgery

Today I want to tell you about my personal experience with LASIK procedure and how LASIK in fact changed my life.

The doctor and I talked about the surgery; he was persuading at the same time realistic. He stated that one of my eyes would be a good candidate for total vision correction, but the other eye would likely see only some (though possibly major) improvement. He stated that about one of his Lasik procedures per month are with clients with the same level of poor vision of my worst eye.  So that made me feel good!  

I would also like to encourage those people with some problems to go ahead and visit their local Lasik center (in my case I went to the Denver Lasik Eye Surgery clinic and I can't complain!) to talk to the professionals there. As I mentioned earlier, I have had some occasional problems with dry eyes. I also have pupils that dilate easily. These conditions that I have with my eyes can be a possible cause of complication, but the doctor said that the conditions are not that severe to defer the procedure. Do go and discuss your individual case.

I cannot say that the information I was given made me totally relaxed about the whole procedure. Before I had the procedure done, I tried to reason with myself not to get it.  I followed all what the Lasik doctors told me to do  after the procedure, and I am so happy with the results! I could see much better even directly after the operation was over, and things have continued to improve. I personally do not have any of the problems that are often mentioned as effects, such as halos around lights, etc. I would strongly encourage anyone to be brave enough to go down to your Lasik center and at least talk about the Lasik procedure with a knowledgeable professional.

An eating disorder is a complex and chronic illness.  Nothing ever happens in a fraction of a second.  It takes a long time to develop an eating disorder. For its treatment to be a success it takes even longer time.

An abnormal and extremely unhealthy eating pattern is harmful to a person's normal physical well being.  It is a disorder, which involves both eating too much, and not eating enough. Throwing up or bingeing after a meal is also termed an eating disorder. 

Eating disorders are usually found in females rather than males, (though evidence shows males are now tending to succumb more nowadays). In the age group fifteen to twenty five it is usually more common. Being slim and young is what most female's dream of and this in turn results in the development of life threatening disorders. 

Adolescents need a balanced diet. In adolescence the nutritional requirements are very high due to their accelerated emotional, biochemical and physical development. The final growth spurt occurs in this period. There is also an increased demand for energy, protein, minerals and vitamins. So when the requirements are very high any deficiency in nutritional intake will cause problems which will follow them for rest of their lives

The causes of eating disorder are numerous, but the main cause is thought to be psychological factors.  These are related to abnormal obsessions with the amount of food eaten by the sufferer and their subsequent gain in weight. Voluntary appetite control can be controlled by them.

The major eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, hyperphagia, orthorexia, pica, food phobia, and rumination.  

The amount and the pattern of eating depends on many factors such as peer pressure, food availability, ethics in families, their own appetite, imitating role models, concerns about gaining weight, and psychological factors. The major eating disorders like anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, hyperphagia, orthorexia, pica, food phobia, and rumination often start as a mild complication and lead to serious heart and kidney failure and ultimately can lead to death. 

Eating disorders may also lead to the following problems:

electrolyte imbalance, amanorrhoea, thinning of hair, functioning of the heart decreases, dental caries, hypothermia, bone mass decreases, liver function is altered, ulcers in oesophagus, reduced immunity in the body and low blood pressure.

It is very important to identify an eating disorder in order to start with its treatment. If the patient is willing to undergo the treatment they are easily treatable. Treatment should always start with psychiatric treatment followed by behavioral modification, nutritional counseling and medical treatment.

How Is The Molluscum Contagiosum Virus Be Detected And Avoided?

A highly contagious skin infection that stems from a certain pox virus is known as Molluscum Contagiosum Virus or MCV. This skin infection causes painful lesions on the individual that are highly contagious to other individuals. The virus is so contagious that it can even be spread from touching objects that have been contaminated by an individual who has the virus. There are many different types of treatments that a dermatologist or a pediatrician, if the virus is affecting a child, can prescribe. Unfortunately, this virus can often times be wrongly diagnosed as a different type of problem. Some of these issues include dry skin or eczema. If the virus is affecting an adult, then it can sometimes be confused with the Human Papilloma Virus HPV.

There are normally two different courses of treatment for an individual with the Molluscum virus. One of them is to simply let the virus run through its natural course. This however, can take a period of about two years. The other treatment course is to have the lesions frozen or burnt off. This procedure can be quite painful for the patient, and since the individual is most often a child, it can seem even more painful. While there is pain associated with burning or freezing the lesions off, letting it run through its natural course can threaten the individual's life because the lesions will allow other infections to enter the body.

MCV has three stages. First, you'll usually see tiny bumps in a patch that resemble goose bumps. From there, the virus will move into the second stage where the lesions look like flattened moles and then, finally, the third stage where the lesions will look like the pimples every teenager sees during puberty. MCV affects mostly children, but can hit anyone of any age as well. In children, the virus is seen mostly on the face, neck, armpits, hands and arms. For adults it is seen as an STD, or sexually transmitted disease, on the lower abdomen, thigh area, buttocks and genitals.

One way to make sure that the Molluscum virus is not passed on to other individuals is to not allow them to use any of your personal items, like your towels, eating utensils or even hairbrushes. This is because the virus is so easily passed on. There is also another cure that is available to individuals, which is called the silver cure. This cure was actually created by a doctor whose own granddaughters had the illness. It is important to speak to a physician if you think that you or a family member has this virus; as with other viruses, such as an HPV virus, it can be passed on.
