Skin Acne Product: What to do If It Doesn't Work

Trying to find the perfect skin acne product that will work for you is not an easy task and it is likely you know exactly what this process can be like. There are hundreds of different products and of course if we are to believe all the marketing, they all promise the world. And as if that were not difficult enough, it is your skin after all and you don't want to be testing all sorts of weird and wonderful remedies on yourself like a lab rat.

Skin acne is such a very personal and at the same time a very public skin 'disorder' to have to deal with. Almost everyone has had to deal with it in some form or another during their lifetime. Is there anything worse than feeling like you are carrying around a big lobster stuck to your face all the time?

In fact that image has been used in a commercial to sell a skin acne product. The real tough part though is purchasing a product you hope will cure your skin acne only to be disappointed with little or no results. This kind of thing happens to thousands of people all over the world.

So what do you do when an off the shelf skin acne product, or even a prescribed one for that matter, lets you down? Well there are two other, slightly more drastic, options you might consider.

Acne Laser Treatment

The laser procedure to treat acne has been successful for many people. They way it works is tiny lasers are used to reshape the surface of the skin and remove dead skin cells. The newer skin underneath then becomes visible. For a lot of people who have undergone this type of acne treatment the result has been more radiant, even younger, looking skin.

Acne Surgery

The other alternative you could try is to have your acne treated surgically. The procedure normally involves both treating the present acne condition and in addition removing any acne scars which may be present. If you are considering this approach, you will need to make an appointment to see a doctor. The best route may be to first see your doctor and have him or her recommend a specialist.

As mentioned, acne laser treatment and acne surgery are more drastic measures one could take and should only be done with the advice and assistance of a doctor who specializes in these areas. Also be sure that you have tried at least a few options of off the shelf or over the counter skin acne products first and given them the appropriate amount of time to work before you make your decision.
