Are You At Risk Of Diabetes?
Diabetes is an increasing problem in most developed nations. Larger percentages of people are learning to live with diabetes. Unsurprisingly, these new cases of diabetes are threatening to overwhelm the healthcare systems of these countries.
The best way to avoid diabetes is through diet and exercise. A normal weight and plenty of exercise really help in avoiding the disease.
But if you get diabetes, the next best thing is early detection of the disease. On the whole, the sooner it's diagnosed, the easier it is to treat. You are able to avoid medication and treat their condition through careful eating and consistent exercise.
Common symptoms of diabetes include:
- Frequent need to relieve yourself. Increased urination happens because the sugar in the blood overwhelms the kidneys. The kidneys use more water to rid the glucose, requiring frequent trips to the bathroom.
- Permanent thirst. unsurprisingly, diabetes patients are often thirsty. frequent urination is usually the cause, as the body seeks to replace the liquid taken out by the kidneys.
- Unexpected weight loss. This doesn't always happen, but weight loss without trying is often a symptom that something's incorrect in the human body. With diabetes, it can be due to the body using up muscle and fat cells for energy.
- Feeling fatigued and weak. Again, many diseases cause you to feel run down.
- Tingling in the limbs. As too much glucose damages the nervous system, the sufferer develops neuropathy, problems with the limbs.
- Blurry vision. Excess blood sugar can affect vision. Blindness and other eye ailments are possible with untreated diabetes.
- Cuts and infections that don't heal. Diabetes can make it more difficult for a body to heal. Bruises and infections can take a lot longer than normal to heal.
If you suspect you might have diabetes, don't hesitate! Go immediately to see your doctor. A simple blood sugar test will quickly tell the doctor if you have diabetes. The sooner you know, the better off you'll be in treating the disease.
